Understanding ABC Paris dual recognition

ABC Paris programs can include two different forms of recognition: IACBE accreditation for business programs and RNCP registration in France, depending on the program. IACBE is a specialized accreditation for business education, which means the accredited programs have been externally reviewed against quality standards in teaching, learning outcomes, and continuous improvement. RNCP registration means the certification is officially listed in the French national register of professional qualifications with a defined qualification level, such as level 6 or level 7.

For students, this dual recognition is useful in two ways. First, it provides international quality assurance for the business program through IACBE. Second, it gives the French certification a clear professional level for recruitment and further study context in France through the RNCP framework. For example, RNCP level 7 corresponds to a qualification level comparable to a master’s degree in the French framework, while RNCP level 6 corresponds to bachelor level.

It is also important to be precise about the limits. IACBE accredits specific business programs, not the whole institution, and it does not guarantee automatic transfer of credits or automatic acceptance by every university. Likewise, recognition abroad always depends on the rules of the country, employer, or host institution.

American Business College Paris provides undergraduate to graduate academic programs in international business. All degrees are recognized internationally.

IACBE accreditations

American Business College Paris has received specialized accreditation for its business programs through the International Accreditation Council for Business Education (IACBE) located at 11960 Quivira Road in Overland Park, Kansas, USA. For a list of accredited programs please view our IACBE member status page.

Programmatic accreditation by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education is mission-driven and outcomes-based, and involves an independent, external evaluation of the business programs offered by an institution’s academic business unit. The effectiveness of the academic business unit is evaluated by reviewing the educational processes related to teaching and learning in the institution, and by an assessment of the outcomes of the teaching-learning process.

Répertoire national des certifications professionnelles and France Competences

The Répertoire National des Certifications Professionnelles (RNCP) compiles all degrees, professional titles and certificates of qualification recognized by the French government.

The RNCP provides, on the France Compétences website, all the information related to a certification such as the detailed description, the positions accessible, the field of activity, the skills obtained, the admissions requirements, and the corresponding level of study. The certificates of qualification are classified separately by field of activity and can be found thanks to a reference number.

Accreditations & Recognition FAQ

  • ABC Paris highlights RNCP registration for its programs on the accreditations page. In France, titles and diplomas registered in the RNCP are professional qualifications officially recognized by the State. Their exact level depends on the program.

  • Not exactly. RNCP level 7 means the certification is positioned at the same qualification level as a master in the French framework. But that does not automatically mean it is a French national master’s degree.

  • IACBE is a specialized accreditor for business and business-related programs. It indicates that the accredited program has gone through external review focused on academic quality, learning outcomes, and continuous improvement.

  • Yes, RNCP registration gives the qualification an official professional level in France and helps employers and institutions understand its level. But admission to a new program remains the decision of the receiving school or university
